Doctoral Degree Programmes
University West offers doctoral degree programmes in three subjects: Production Technology, Informatics with specialisation Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and Education with specialisation Work Integrated Learning (WIL). Doctoral students within other disciplines have been admitted to degree programmes at other universities/colleges but carry out their research at University West.
A doctoral degree programme comprises 240 university credits, equivalent to four years of full-time studies. The programme consists of a thesis and a number of courses determined by the research subject. Research results are reported in a doctoral thesis which is to be publicly defended. As a doctoral student, you will always have at least two supervisors to guide you through the programme.
Mohit Kumar Gupta describes how it is to do research in Production Technology as a doctoral student.
