Everything is great!
Chang Xu or Colin, as he likes to call himself, was born in Wuhan but has lived in Ningbo not far from Shanghai in China. He has been in Sweden for 10 months and is really enjoying the experience of studying abroad as an exchange student. He will get his degree after finishing his studies on the Master programme in Software Engineering here at University West.
Chang Xu is very impressed by the facilities on Campus.
- My deepest impression is by something which is very different from China, the kitchen room. This is where you can bring your own food and heat up using microwave ovens.
- I also really like the computer labs with lots of room, they are easy to use and you have your own account with access to the network and the Internet.
The library - a favourite place
- I love the big windows where I can enjoy the sunlight and have a good view of the city below. I like to sit in the sofa to study or simply relax. If I need to work on a group project, me and my classmates like to go to one of the small group rooms available all over the school.
Relaxed atmosphere
- It is very relaxed here, not formal like in China. The teacher is more of a friend and you can ask any kinds of question. I like this very much and if I had the chance to be a teacher I will consider to treat my students in the same way.
Lunch on or off campus
Chang has different routines depending on his schedule.
- If I have many classes in one day I have lunch on Campus in the central Café, bring my home-made food or go to the Thai or Chinese restaurant in the city centre. Otherwise I go back to my flat and cook.
