The admission requirements are different for each programme. Please check the admission requirements by clicking on the programme you are interested in (and then choose "Admission and application").

We follow the documents that is written at www.universityadmissions.se (no additional specifik documents besides that). Then the bachelor degree need to be in the field that is written on the programme page.

English language requirement

The English language requirement for all programmes taught in English is the equivalent of English studies at the upper secondary (high school) level in Sweden, called English 6 or English B.

The English language requirement for all programmes taught in English is the equivalent of English studies at the upper secondary (high school) level in Sweden, called English 6 or English B. The following tests are accepted as equivalent:

IELTS Academic/IELTS UKVI

An overall mark of 6.5 and no section below 5.5

TOEFL iBT

• Paper-based: Score of 4.5 (scale 1-6) in written test, total score of 575, or
• Internet-based: Score of 20 (scale 0-30) in written test, total score of 90

University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL)

• C1 Advanced (CAE), Cambridge English: Advanced (Certificate in Advanced English), or
• Cambridge ESOL Level 2 Certificate in ESOL International, Level C1

Cambridge Michigan Language Assessments

• Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB), minimum score of 90, or
• University of Michigan, Examination for the Certificate of Proficiency in English (ECPE)

Pearson PTE Academic

Score of 62 (writing 61)

Exemptions from English language proficiency test requirement

If the language of instruction of your previous studies was English, you might be exempted from taking an English language proficiency test. Read more about how to meet the English requirements at University Admissions.

The application procedure basically consists of three steps:

1. Apply online
2. Submit your documents
3. Pay the application fee (if applicable)

* Application for the bachelor's programme in International Mechanical Engineering will open in June.

All our programmes that start in the autumn semester* are open for application from mid-October until spring.

The deadline for receipt of supporting documentation and application fee (if applicable) is 1 February.

Students applying for a University West Scholarship can do that from November to 1 February.

If your citizenship is in a country outside of the EU/EEA or Switzerland, you are required to pay an application fee. The application fee is SEK 900 (Swedish kronor).
