Scientific Methods in Robotics and Automation, 3 hp
The course aims to provide understanding of and knowledge of scientific method, scientific study with a focus on the writing process. Included are various scientific approaches and related methodological approaches with specific focus on engineering methods. An overview of scientific reliability and validity, ethics and morality in research studies is included. The course provides knowledge of academic writing and includes structure, content, publication format and reference systems. Scientific articles and method literature are used as a basis for discussions, assignments, and own writing. The course provides guidance for the degree project and further doctoral studies.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Degree of Bachelor of Science in computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or industrial engineering and management. Additionally, the Bachelor of Science degree must be comprised of a minimum of 5 HE credits in programming and 15 HE credits in mathematics. Verified knowledge of English corresponding to the course English 6 or English level 2 in the Swedish Upper Secondary School (high school) or equivalent.
You also need approved result from the following course/courses: RBK600 Robot Certificate or the equivalent.
