Sustainability and Contemporary Political Thought, 7.5 hp
Contemporary Political Thought is a module that introduces students to select contemporary debates in social and political theory through the lens of sustainability. For each of the three dimensions of sustainability, environmental, economic, and social, students will be exposed to cutting-edge debates relevant to real-world issues. In addition to being able to understand these theories and key thinkers in their own terms, students will be expected to compare and contrast them with rival theories, and also to critically assess them in relation to real world evidence. Finally, students will be expected to collaborate on a problem-solving task related to everyday sustainability, to incorporate principles of WIL into the course.
