The course offers an orientation about academic writing strategies useful for work both within and outside of academia. The main aim of the course is to provide students with productive academic writing skills, both for individual and collaborative writing. The course builds on academic writing tasks related to the PhD students’ research projects, thus providing work-integrated learning by using authentic academic writing work experience as part of the course work.

The course consists of scheduled compulsory meetings, with planned individual activities between meetings (please see course assignment description). The teaching is conducted in the form of lectures, workshops, and group discussions

This is an interdisciplinary practice-based course where you have the opportunity to work with scientific texts related to your PhD thesis project.

The course activities are mandatory with one campus day (24th February 2026); all other course activities are online.

The course is given in English.
