External evaluation research
Every six years, University West conducts external evaluations of all its research activities. As of 2025, the evaluations are carried out simultaneously, whereas they were previously conducted according to a rolling schedule.
External research evaluation 2025 - EFU25
In 2025, University West carried out a comprehensive external evaluation of all its research activities. The research was organized into two evaluation units corresponding to the university's two overarching areas of strength, Work Integrated Learning (AIL) and Production Technology. Other research was evaluated per department and included in the final reports for each area of strength. The assessment reports can be accessed here:
Previous external evaluations of research
Until 2023, the university had three "vital research environments": Learning in and for the new working life (LINA), Child and Youth Studies (BUV) and Production Technology West (PTV). They were externally evaluated in 2016. The assessment reports can be ordered from registrator@hv.se.
LINA was also externally evaluated in 2022:
BUV (Child and Youth Studies) conducted a self-evaluation in 2023, which was reviewed by the university's Research and Education Board. External evaluation was not deemed appropriate at that time.
When University West launched the Knowledge Environment Primus in 2018, the external quality evaluation ARC18 was carried out, covering all research in production technology. The report can be ordered from registrator@hv.se. Midway through the ten-year Knowledge Environment period, Primus underwent a further external research evaluation, ARC23, which covered research in production technology and industrial work-integrated learning.
