An inclusive and accessible university is a prerequisite for University West to be able to conduct its activities on equal terms. We work for increased participation for people with different types of disabilities who study, work and / or visit us.
The university's work with accessibility is based on our core values and the university's core values, which state that "the activities at University West are based on and defend the principle of the equal value of all people where democracy and diversity contribute to social welfare, justice and sustainable societal development".
The work with accessibility is an important part of living in accordance with our values and creating a socially sustainable university. Therefore, our accessibility work is an important part of the work with sustainable development and Agenda 2030.
Furthermore, the work on accessibility is based on current legislation, including the Discrimination Act (SFS 2008:567), the Work Environment Act and its regulations (1977:1160), the ordinance for state authorities to implement disability policy and others (SFS 2001:526) and the disability policy (prop. 1999/2000:79).
