Pedagogical Excellence and Work-Integrated Education and Teaching

To enable high quality in education and to make University West an even more relevant and attractive educational environment, we will develop individual and collective structures that strengthen teachers’ pedagogical competence. We will also strengthen and clarify the university’s educational approach through Work-Integrated Education and Teaching (WIE), and create stronger links between education and research

During the period 2026–2031, we will focus on developing:

• the institution’s pedagogical approaches and practices for Work-Integrated Education and Teaching (WIE) across all educational activities
• basic higher education pedagogical competence among all teachers and researchers, combined with incentive structures that systematically support individual and collegial development of pedagogical competencies and teaching practices
• collaboration and partnerships that enable both accessibility to higher education and practical relevance in academic programmes and courses
