Agents are now available in Copilot

Would you like to prepare Copilot with instructions, materials, or specific websites in advance? Then agents in Copilot might be something for you.
An agent works as a customized version of Copilot where you decide which instructions it should follow and what information it should be based on. Agents in Copilot are similar to what ChatGPT calls GPTs, AI assistants tailored specifically to your needs. This could mean getting more precise responses regarding, for example, tone, subject area, or language. You can also give instructions about how it should behave. For instance, you can instruct the agent to always ask follow-up questions, to quiz you on something, and not to give the correct answer until you’ve responded.

An example of a simple agent could be one with the task of translating texts into English. You give the instruction once, and the agent will follow it every time you use it.
It’s also possible to create more advanced agents. You can, for example, upload a syllabus, a reading list, or other documents that the agent should take into account when responding. You can choose whether the agent should also be able to search for information on the web.
Creating an agent is easy, just click “Create an agent” in the right-hand menu in Copilot in the Edge browser.
Previously, agents were only available in the paid version of Copilot, but are now accessible to everyone at the university.
