Courses in English for staff at University West

Starting this fall, we will be providing English courses for both teaching faculty and administrative staff.
The courses will be taught by Nick Kalivoda, who works at University West's Language Resource Centre. Nick is a native speaker of English with a PhD in linguistics.
The course for faculty will focus on pedagogy, emphasizing use of English in the classroom and in communication with students. It will also touch on academic English for conference presentations, personal websites, and more.
The course for administrative staff will focus on how to interact with international students effectively and confidently, both by email and in person.
Both courses will have a casual atmosphere aimed at helping you gain comfort and confidence when using professional English. Class activities will be hands-on and interactive. The courses will be held in person in seven two-hour sessions (at times to be announced after summer).
