You can create and assign tags to students in Canvas. The tags are hidden from the students.
Use cases
- Assign modules, pages, assignments, and discussions
- Send messages in the Inbox
- Filter the gradebook and people list
Examples of use
- Tag each student with their supervisor in a thesis course. The supervisor can use the tag to send messages to their own students or filter them in the gradebook.
- Tag students based on different areas of interest and give them access to different modules depending on their choices
