Social media comment rules
University West frequently posts on social media. The comment sections are open, and everyone is welcome to take part in the discussions there. However, it is important to follow our commenting guidelines.
The guidelines on the university’s social media are based on our fundamental values.
Moderation of our social media channels is primarily done manually, and the process is not flawless. It may take some time for us to identify comments that violate the guidelines. Occasionally, comments that should have been removed may remain, and conversely, something may be removed that should have stayed.
Comment Guidelines:
- Stay on topic with the post.
- Aggressive comments or personal attacks, whether directed at individuals featured in the posts or other commenters, are not allowed.
-
We do not allow anyone to be named or for information to be published that could in other ways be offensive or harmful to another person.
-
Comments that violate the law, such as unlawful threats, incitement, or hate speech, are prohibited.
- Defamation, the spread of rumors, or sharing private information is not permitted.
- Comments that seek to devalue groups based on, for example, gender, skin color, or sexuality are not allowed.
- Commercial messages are not permitted.
- Repeated posting of the same comment or message is not allowed and will be removed.
- Comments that fail to distinguish between the topic and personal criticism will be removed.
Threats and other unlawful content will be reported to the police.
In our comment sections, we generally have limited opportunities to respond to individual comments or address specific cases. If you would like a response from us, we recommend that you contact us by email instead.
