The number of international students admitted to programmes at University West continues to grow. The interest reflects the attractiveness of the programmes in areas such as production technology and work-integrated learning.

“We are seeing strong and growing interest from students around the world who are applying to programmes with a clear connection to working life and societal development,” says Tomas Bengtsson, Director International Affairs at University West.

Among the most popular programmes are the Master’s programmes in Operations and Supply Chain Management, AI and Automation, Sustainable Development, and Leadership in Digitalised Organisations. Meanwhile, the number of admitted students has increased across all international programmes.

Contributing to quality and skills development

International students play a central role in creating dynamic learning environments where different perspectives meet. This not only enhances the quality of education but also prepares all students for a global labour market. International student recruitment is also a strategic focus area for Sweden, where many students contribute to the workforce and to innovation by bringing in-demand skills.

“Internationalisation is a defined mission for all universities. For us, it is an important part of our operations. International students contribute new competencies both regionally and nationally, often in fields where there is a shortage of skills and where domestic recruitment is not sufficient. They also help create an international campus environment that benefits all students,” says Vice-Chancellor Mats Jägstam.

Admissions for applicants applying through late application are ongoing, which means that the final number of admitted students has not yet been determined.
