Increase in applications from international students

On Friday, the application period expired for international students for the autumn of 2021. In the offer this time there were two programs at the undergraduate level and about ten programs at the advanced level, of which several news are also given at a distance, such as Master in electrical vehicle engineering. The number of applicants increases by just over 20 percent at University West.

- We have an increase of 22 percent in the number of international applicants for our programs in English. The two most popular master's programs are Manufacturing Engineering and International Business. Our bachelor's program International Program in Politics and Economics is also a very popular program, says Tomas Bengtsson who is responsible for international student recruitment at University West.
Tomas Bengtsson describes that the university has built on the relatively new work with the goal of increasing the number of international program students at University West and that these initiatives are now bearing fruit. Even before the Corona Pandemic, work had begun on being able to provide several of the programs at the advanced level also at a distance to enable even more people to apply for the programs.
- We try to establish a presence in selected focus areas both within and outside the EU to make our range of programs in English visible. This year we have had to work on developing a more digital presence and we have conducted over 30 webinars and participated in upwards of 10 digital fairs and conducted digital advertising campaigns.
Some of the programs are still open for late registration.
