The last Saab to leave the factory at Stallbacka has been auctioned off. The winning bid was 465 000 Swedish crowns. The money will go to a sustainability scholarship launched jointly by the Swedish car manufacturer NEVS and University West.
- Great news! I am happy that the return was so substantial, as the money will be used for something very important. Also, congratulations to the buyer who will receive a unique automobile, said vice-chancellor Martin Hellström.
The annual ”NEVS Sustainable Mobility Scholarship” will be awarded to an individual who has made significant contributions to promote mobility solutions for the future – from electric vehicle technology, sharing economy to self-driving cars. Everything from research to advocacy efforts will be considered.
- I am really looking forward to taking the next steps with the scholarship together with NEVS. If we are to solve societal challenges like climate change, we need more collaboration and cooperation. Real change can happen when businesses and academic institutions team up, said Martin Hellström.
