Record Increase: University West Attracts More and More International Students

Compared to the previous year, 51.7% more international students have applied for the international bachelor's programs this fall. This is the largest percentage increase in the country.
University West continues to attract international students. The number of applicants for the international programs has risen significantly for the autumn semester of 2025, compared to the previous year.
For University West's international bachelor's programs, there are 51.7% more applicants for the autumn of 2025, compared to 2024's intake. This represents the highest percentage increase in the country.
"It is fantastic that so many international students are applying," says Tomas Bengtsson, Director of International Affairs at University West. "This increase is a direct result of our internationalization efforts and shows that we offer attractive programs that meet the needs of both students and the job market."
The number of applicants for the university’s international master's programs has also risen this year. Although the program portfolio was reduced by four programs, there are still 13.8% more international students applying to University West for the upcoming semester.
The application figures reflect the number of international students who submitted their applications before the final application deadline. However, since University West's international programs are still open for late applications, the number of applicants is expected to continue rising.
