The first class of international mechanical engineers are now entering the workforce. The Bachelor's program in International Mechanical Engineering at University West has reached an important milestone. Those who began their studies three years ago have now graduated.
The program is carefully designed to meet industry demands and has strong ties to both local and international companies, including GKN Aerospace, Volvo Cars, and Siemens. The students who are now graduating can step into the workforce and start careers in a variety of fields, such as manufacturing processes, automation, materials science, and sustainability.
Program director Ebrahim Harati summarizes the students', or rather alumni's, employment prospects after graduation as "very promising."
"Forecasts indicate a growing demand for mechanical engineers in Sweden over the next 5–10 years, with opportunities extending across the globe," he says. "This program equips students with cutting-edge technical skills, global perspectives and a multidisciplinary approach, making them highly competitive in the job market".
Many of those who have studied the program are international students who have come from all over the world to study at University West.
The program continues to attract students, and today, January 20th, a new group of students begin their journey to become international mechanical engineers.
