University West Attracts Global Talent – Ten Students Awarded Prestigious Scholarships
05 May 2025
Ten international students who will begin their studies at University West this autumn have been awarded prestigious scholarships from the Swedish Institute – the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals and the newly established Pioneering Women in STEM.
This year’s competition for the SI Scholarship was intense, with over 8,500 applications submitted to the Swedish Institute for the 2025/2026 academic year. Of the 402 international students who were actually awarded a scholarship, 10 will be pursuing a master’s program at University West in Trollhättan.
“This clearly shows that University West offers high-quality education across a wide range of subjects – for example, social sciences, informatics, AI, and engineering,” says Tomas Bengtsson, Head of International Student Recruitment at University West.
The scholarship recipients are selected based on academic achievement, professional experience, leadership potential, and their ability to contribute to sustainable development. When they arrive in Trollhättan this autumn, the ten scholarship holders will enrich both the classrooms and the university as a whole with their diverse experiences and perspectives.
“We are truly looking forward to welcoming our scholarship recipients – and all international students – to Sweden and to Trollhättan at the end of August!” concludes Tomas Bengtsson.
