University West Attracts International Talent – 11 Students Receive Scholarships
28 Apr 2026
This autumn, University West will welcome 11 international students who have been awarded scholarships through the Swedish Institute scholarship programmes SI Scholarship for Global Professionals and Pioneering Women in STEM.

Interest in this year’s scholarships was greater than ever. A total of 12,922 applications were submitted to the Swedish Institute. Out of these, 232 scholarships were awarded, and 11 of the recipients will study at University West in Trollhättan.
“The fact that so many scholarship recipients have chosen to study at University West shows that our master’s programmes are internationally attractive and of high quality,” says Tomas Bengtsson, Director of International Affairs at University West.
The scholarships are awarded to individuals with strong academic backgrounds, relevant professional experience, and leadership potential. The selection process also considers the applicants’ ability to contribute to sustainable development in their home countries after completing their studies.
When the students arrive in Trollhättan this autumn, they will bring new experiences and perspectives to both the academic programmes and campus life.
“We look forward to welcoming this year’s scholarship recipients. They strengthen our international environment and enrich the entire university,” says Tomas Bengtsson.
