Denise is awarded for outstanding contribution to student learning, Denise Jackson will present her research on VILÄR 2019.

When presenting at VILÄR 2019 she will talk about the meaning of professional identity for the coming future. She problematizes students transition from grad school to working life as they are expected to be know it all’s. Denise talks about fostering workable professional identities among students by making them participate in work integrated learning situations.

Her research has proven valuable for smoothening experiences into workplace learning for identity creation. With great experience and contribution to her research field she is warmly welcomed to University West as one of VILÄR’s keynote speakers.

LORNA UNWIN, UCL INSTITUTE OF EDUCATION, LONDON

Lorna argues that effective work-related learning depends upon a mutual understanding and the willingness to share and value the expertise of the participating actors.

In her presentation she puts pressure on actor recognition and the role of the mediated goal. Her interest in occupational expertise in and outside the workplace is illustrated in the talk about co-construction approach and mutually productive learning programmes.

With her long expertise in questions of the role and organisation of education, training and workplace change she will share her ideas and knowledge how the use of practical analytical tools can help to facilitate the co-construction of work-related programmes.

VILÄR 2019 gives a warm welcome to Professor Lorna Unwin, one of this year’s eminent keynotes.

MARIO ROMERO VEGA, KTH ROYAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY

Mario will present his research that is one of todays most highligheted and up-to date topics, Expo-Based Learning in the higher education of virtual and augmented reality.

With promises of a technological age the adoption and use of technical resources are widespread. Mario will present his research on a learning method called Expo-Based Learning (EBL) with focus of achieving large public outreach beyond the course.

With great knowledge in the tech industry and academy Mario states that the key to widespread adoption is greater and deeper content native to Human-Computer Interaction, Visualization, and Ubiquitous and Accessible Computing.

Mario will share his experience and knowledge from the past seven years and talk about future challenges with learning and tech. University west gives a warm welcome to Mario Romero, keynote at VILÄR 2019.
