The project plans to 1) develop a methodology for municipalities to be able to use sensors and data to plan development work in an agile and informed way. We 2) demonstrate the effectiveness of this workflow through a pilot project to be incorporated in the city of Trollhättan. We also plan to expand our network of municipalities, industries and other stakeholders to work on more projects using this methodology. The result would be a new agile way of implementing municipal development projects and infrastructure maintenance, where municipalities can plan their projects based on evidence from sensors and real-time data. The result would be that the municipalities can more quickly take more well-grounded measures to reach their climate goals and to facilitate a circular ecosystem. Secondly, the municipalities can use their limited resources (money and time) more efficiently and effectively.

An agile approach is useful in these plans because these are constantly evolving guidelines (with the circular standard still being debated). This will also facilitate smoother work for the municipalities with different groups of stakeholders. The effect would be that the municipalities can take better and more measures to create a greener and more circular city. Second, as the method will facilitate low-budget integration of climate and circular objectives, these methods can be of particular use in helping municipalities in developing countries to do more towards climate and circular objectives.
