Social processes for initiating energy renovation of organizations' buildings. The case of the Swedish Church
The project focuses on initiating energy renovations in buildings owned by organisations with limited energy expertise, using the Church of Sweden as a case study.
As the pace of renovation is slow, better understanding of the challenges is needed; what are the main social and organisational obstacles to energy efficiency in buildings.
Through active collaboration between researchers and the church, social processes in parishes are investigated and supported to increase commitment to energy renovations, where the church's joint support function acts as a facilitator by offering energy support.
The project results in socially oriented strategies and working methods that promote organisations to start their energy renovation journey and reduce energy use. This contributes knowledge about co-creation and learning processes within and between parishes, and how practical energy support can be designed - results that can be scaled to other organisations with similar challenges.
