This project aims to explore how online education for professionals can better meet the needs of continuous professional development by learning from the Indian partner's successful combination of full-time work and study. Therefore, Högskolan Väst (HV) and Jönköping University (JU) in Sweden propose a partnership with BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, India, to prepare future engineers for the world of work and keep working engineers up to date with new technological advances. This collaboration covers all aspects of higher education in engineering, from curriculum development to experiential learning and examination. It aims to create an ecosystem that involves higher education and industry stakeholders, promoting continuous education with flexibility and choice.
The project is designed as a one-year feasibility study that will lay the foundation for program design, adaptation and institutionalization to meet the needs of Swedish industry. The long-term goal is to be able to offer programs and courses from Swedish universities, using global industry practices and teaching methods. The results of the feasibility study will be a framework for program-based technical training intended for Swedish needs, which will be implemented in a planned subsequent project.
