Research questions addressed are: How is knowledge exchange and learning perceived and valued in academia and industry co-production? How can we organize co-production projects in order to enhance work-integrated learning opportunities for the involved parties? By applying a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods, the research aims to develop a model for measuring and understanding Primus co-production in general, and knowledge exchange and learning between industry and academia in particular. The results will generate models and applications of key factors and mechanisms that constitute successful co-production between academia and industry organizations. Important implications and instruments for certifying and assuring knowledge exchange and learning between academia and strategic industry partners will be generated.
