Lecturer in Electricity with a focus on power systems
Electrical engineering has been identified as a critical area for the regional growth. The transformation towards a fossil free vehicle fleet (electrical cars) is a direct huge challenge for the Sweden and West Sweden’s automotive sector, but also indirect a huge challenges on the electrical power grid due to the rapid increase of electric energy consumptions.
A stable power system is a prerequisite for and a preparation for the conversion of other industries. Without a stable power system, development and electrification of the industries (‘green steel’, battery factories etc) and the vehicle fleet will be inhibited. As Sweden is the largest exporter of electrical energy in Europe, an unstable grid in Sweden will affect the rest of Europe.
