Challenges that have been identified and that requires development is the virtualization of laboratory work in engineering. In the current project MERIT and Prodex, we have a well-established network and cooperation with industry, in addition to the mentioned above concerning research networks. In these projects, and collaborative research, we have identified virtualisation of the laboratory as a challenge for the next step in Internet-based learning, and especially to achieve greater distribution nationally and internationally. A platform for the IT infrastructure is designed, inter alia, MERIT project that we can start from and build on. Identified areas of expertise for course modules that will be given are: Robotics, Machining, Automation, and Structural analysis by FE simulation. Course modules relate to postgraduate level, but these should also be provided with the curriculum at second level for master / master level.

These areas of expertise are in many ways crucial for the efficient manufacture of many businesses and skills supply with current knowledge and practices at the international level is essential to meet global competition. This project aims to meet the needs available in the industry. In this way we can contribute to effective learning methods based on modern IT, in addition to meet the needs of industry.
