CHAT for Change: Co-Constructing Theoretical Tools for Collective Transformative Agency in Social Sustainability
The aim is to lay the groundwork for a full-scale research proposal to develop a long-term Swedish CHAT node in collaboration with internationally established CHAT researchers.
This international research initiative brings together scholars working with Cultural-Historical Activity Theory (CHAT) and social sustainability to catalyse theoretical innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration. The aim is to lay the groundwork for a full-scale research proposal to develop a long-term Swedish CHAT node in collaboration with internationally established CHAT researchers.
Hosted by the Centre for Activity Theory at University West, Sweden, the event focuses on work-integrated learning. It aims to develop a conceptual framework for understanding and fostering collective transformative agency in organisations pursuing social sustainability. International researchers will explore how CHAT can address systemic real-world challenges through critical theory-practice dialogue. The workshop will facilitate the co-development of research themes and networks, strengthen academic collaboration and initiate new scholarly communities.
