About me

I am Professor of Industrial Engineering and Management at Högskolan Väst. I hold a PhD in Quality Management from Chalmers University of Technology and an MSc in Industrial Engineering and Management from Linköping University.

With many years of international experience in managerial and strategic roles within the automotive industry, I bring a strong integration of practice and research to both my academic work and teaching.

Research Profile

My research interests include quality management, operations and organizational development, innovation management, and management models that support sustainable development in organizations.

A central focus of my research is understanding what characterizes sustainable transformations in organizations facing the complex and rapidly evolving challenges of our time. I am particularly interested in how organizations can develop the capability to both renew and improve — creating innovative processes while maintaining and refining existing effective practices.

This organizational duality, often referred to as organizational ambidexterity, has been a core research interest of mine for nearly three decades.

Practice-Based Research and Collaboration

In close collaboration with industry and the public sector, I conduct practice-based research where we jointly explore how organizations can address complex challenges. Through long-term partnerships, we co-create knowledge that is both scientifically rigorous and directly relevant to practice.

My overarching goal is to contribute to the development of resilient, learning organizations capable of navigating uncertainty, driving innovation, and creating long-term sustainable value.

How my research can make a difference

In my research, I explore how leadership and organizing can enable and drive sustainable transformations in organizations. I am particularly curious about how established ways of working, organizational structures, and behavioral patterns influence an organization’s ability to create long-term value. My ambition is to contribute knowledge that strengthens the capacity to integrate social sustainability with ecological and economic sustainability in practice.

External assignments

I am an elected Academician of the IAQ – International Academy for Quality, an independent international non-profit organization represented in 45 countries that promotes quality management globally.
