Research area/Research Interest

Anna Karin has a PhD in Business Administration and is an Associate Professor in Business Administration at University West. Anna Karin holds the following academic roles: thematic research leader in the management team for the complete academic environment for work-integrated learning, KAM AIL, as well as research leader for the core area of industrial work-integrated learning, I-WIL, within the KK-funded research environment PRIMUS. She is also a member of the subject committee for PhD education in work-integrated learning.

In her research, Anna Karin has mainly studied collaboration and co-production from an organizational and leadership perspective in various contexts, from the tourism industry to the manufacturing industry. The research interest includes individuals and organizing related to leadership, innovation, digitalization, entrepreneurship, learning and co-production. Anna Karin has experience in leading and participating in interdisciplinary research projects in collaboration between academia and surrounding society/industry. PROWIL human-centric smart automation is an example of an ongoing transdisciplinary project focusing on human-centric perspectives in the introduction of smart technology related to Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0.

Ongoing international research and PhD education collaboration mainly with Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY, US; Kristiania University College in Oslo, Norway; and University of the Free State in Bloemfontein, South Africa and partners within the STARS EU Alliance.

Teaching/Supervision

Anna Karin teaches on PhD courses in WIL and in the field of organization and leadership at advanced level. She is main and assistant supervisor in the PhD education in WIL. Anna Karin has broad experience in developing courses and programs at all academic levels.
