Staff member at Division of Mechanical engineering.
I am a doctoral student in Production Technology at University West. My research focuses on the effect of gaseous hydrogen embrittlement on powder bed fusion-laser beam (PBF-LB) manufactured alloy 718 for space applications. I work on microstructural characterization and in situ static/dynamic mechanical testing in a hydrogen environment to quantify susceptibility to cracking and fracture. The goal of my dissertation is to understand and mitigate hydrogen embrittlement to support the qualification and life predictions of AM alloy 718 components.
