Organization

Staff member at Division of Computer engineering and computer science.

Research area

Conducts research in natrural sciences, computer and information sciences.

Research interest

I specialize in mechatronic and electrical engineering. My research focuses on industrial process monitoring and environmental IoT networks. Specifically, I develop advanced machine learning architectures, such as Latent-space Controlled Variational Autoencoders (LaC-VAE), for automatic sensor calibration. At University West, my work centers on data engineering, pyrometry, and processing acoustic emission data to monitor and optimize powder bed fusion processes in additive manufacturing.

How my research can make a difference

By bridging the gap between hardware engineering and intelligent data pipelines, my research aims to make high-end industrial and environmental monitoring more accessible, robust, and scalable. In manufacturing, intelligent process monitoring ensures higher quality and reduces material waste. In environmental sectors, deploying low-cost, automatically calibrated sensor networks empowers municipalities to make data-driven decisions regarding infrastructure safety, smart water management, and climate resilience.
