Inslussningen Kick-Off

To help you get the best possible start to your studies, we invite you to Inslussningen - a joint kick-off event for all new students, organized by University West, the Student Union (SHV), and the City of Trollhättan.

Get to know the students, university, and city

You're probably excited – but maybe a little nervous. During Inslussningen Kick-off, you'll be able to take part in activities that suit you – whether you want to meet new friends, get familiar with campus, or explore student life and the city of Trollhättan.

Please note: Participation in some events will be mandatory for international students (see Introduction Days) while others will be voluntary.

When is Inslussningen Kick-off?

Inslussningen runs from Monday, August 25 to Sunday, September 7.

It starts one week before classes begin on September 1.

What can you expect?

Inslussningen is your introduction to life as a student at University West. It includes both fun and informative activities. Get practical information while also having the chance to build new friendships from day one. We focus on the whole student experience: academics, social life, and helping you find your place both on campus and in the city.

New students are welcomed by the Student Union and receive their “Nollebricka.”

A Nollebricka is a type of name badge worn by new students (known as nollor) during the Inslussningen Kick-off. It shows that you are a new student and indicates which program you belong to. It also works as a bingo card to help you track which activities you have joined, in a fun way.

The Nollebricka is part of the tradition and community spirit, and it makes a great souvenir from your first days as a student.

The GKN Stafetten (a relay race) is an exciting team race in central Trollhättan with live music, food, and a festive atmosphere. Spectators can cheer on the runners along the canal. After the race, the evening continues with a picnic, entertainment, and an awards ceremony.

The Alliansloppet is a roller ski race and a festive event for recreational skiers, elite athletes, and spectators alike. The race starts in the unique waterfall area of Trollhättan and continues on a loop course measuring 16 km.

Campus, Albetsalen

Jonas von Essen is a two-time World Memory Champion.

He was just an ordinary guy who struggled to remember simple phone numbers, until he discovered ancient memory techniques in high school. Surprised by how quickly he improved, he went on to win the Swedish Memory Championships in 2012, followed by World Championship titles in 2013 and 2014.
