Scholarship structure, Erasmus+
The main ambition of Erasmus+ for higher education is to strengthen international cooperation between higher education institutions, promote mobility for students and staff, and improve the quality and attractiveness of education.
GRANT LEVELS FOR SEMESTER MOBILITY
Budget and grants in brief
Each year, University West awards a number of scholarship places for studies and internships abroad. The number of places is not fixed, but based on standard amounts. Each scholarship is calculated according to the student’s study period abroad (including travel days).
The grant structure and components
The scholarship consists of individual support (for living costs) and travel support, paid as fixed standard amounts.
Individual support: The individual support is based on a fixed monthly amount. This amount depends on which country you are traveling to. All member countries are divided into so-called Country Groups, which determine the monthly amount of the individual support scholarship (see country groupings below). One month is counted as 30 days.
- Group 1 (Countries with higher living costs): 580.00 EUR per month
- Group 2 (Countries with medium living costs): 530.00 EUR per month
- Group 3 (Countries with lower living costs): 530.00 EUR per month
Travel support: Travel support is a fixed amount for to compensate for your cost of travel. It is calculated based on the geographical distance between the home and host institution. Two extra days for travel are added to the individual support for the journey.
For studies within the EU/EEA, the grant usually ranges between 309–395 EUR. You can find the full table below.
