Stevo's Exchange Experience in Lithuania
Stevo Milovanovic, a second-year Computer Engineering student at University West, recently embarked on an exciting exchange journey to Lithuania. Were he participated in a course called 3D Modelling for Games at the Kaunas University of Technology (KTU).
Reflecting on his time abroad, Stevo described his experience as "amazing and enriching." He had the opportunity to enhance his 3D modeling skills while immersing himself in a new culture. His days were filled with exploring fascinating historical sites, making international friends, and even competing in a gaming tournament where he secured third place.

“Winning third place in the gaming tournament was incredible!” Stevo says. “Additionally, exploring unique historical places like the Military Museum of Lithuania, the KGB Bunker Museum, and the Sugihara House were unforgettable highlights.”
Challenges and Culture
Stevo was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness and warmth of the local people. He was also captivated by the city's blend of modern developments and preserved Soviet-era architecture. However, his journey was not without challenges. Adapting to the local language and deciphering signs and directions in Lithuanian proved to be a significant hurdle.
“Balancing my time between studies, social activities, and exploring the city was also a bit of a challenge.”
As his exchange period came to an end, Stevo says he would miss the daily adventures of discovering new places, the vibrant Lithuanian culture, the friends he made from around the world, and the overall sense of adventure that came with being in a new environment.
For other students considering studying abroad, Stevo offers valuable advice:
"Embrace every moment! Be curious, open to learning new things, and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Try to interact with locals, explore the area as much as possible, and immerse yourself in the culture. It’s an experience you’ll treasure forever."
