Scholarship for exchange from Sparbanksstiftelsen Väst
Regulations for award of Sparbanksstiftelsen Väst scholarship 2024
Swedbank in collaboration with the Swedish foundation Sparbanksstiftelsen Väst has donated 50 000 kr to University West for awarding students who have completed a study- or internship period abroad within their education here. The funds will be awarded as 5 scholarships of 10 000 SEK each.
University West will award these two scholarships to students who have completed a study- or internship period abroad of more than 8 weeks.
Students in first-cycle studies (Bachelor level) and students in second-cycle studies (Master level) are welcome to apply.
Students who have been abroad for study or internship during 2023 or 2024 and have not received any funds from University West can apply.
The five students awarded the scholarship undertake to be present to receive this during the graduation ceremony and will be expected to give a short presentation of their experiences.
Applications must be submitted on time and contain the following in order to be regarded as complete:
- A personal letter – max 2 A4 pages (less is absolutely fine) where the applicant describes the period/journey in relation to the university education and the connection to work-integrated learning perspectives.
- The applicant is expected to write about their exchange/travel in a way that a connection to the UN Sustainable Development Goals becomes clear. The letter should identify the student's ability to reflect and understand their exchange/travel from a sustainability-goal perspective. This reflection can include personal merits or insights that the student has gained during their travel.
- Certificate of result (Ladok) where all completed courses or units at University West are listed.
The selection is based on these three criteria.
A scholarship committee will review applications and select scholars. The committee consists of the Vice-Chancellor, student union representative, and for this assignment appointed administrator.
The scholarships are announced on this University West web page in February 2024 and the last date of application is the 1st of April 2024.
All applicants will be notified of the result of their application.
