You can find podcast studios in the group room H102 and on the library's second floor, opposite the stairs. In the room you'll find sound equipment; four microphones, headphones and a sound desk, which you can use for e.g. interviews and podcast recordings.

NOTE! The studio in the library is only available during library opening hours.

Book a podcast studio via schema.hv.se.

How to use the podcast studio

Remember to make a test recording before you really get started. Make sure that all voices are heard well, no voice should be too loud or weak. You can adjust the sound levels using the controls on the sound board.

You are responsible for your own recordings.

  1. If you are in the library, borrow headphones and a power cord from the library's information desk.
  2. Plug in the number of headphones you need and the power cord. The headphones plug into sockets located under the tabletop by the microphone you want to use.
  3. You can record on a memory card or via your computer if you have software that supports recording. (NOTE! The university does not support various recording programs). Memory cards are available to borrow from the library's information desk.
  4. Start the recording table by pressing the red on/off button on the back of the device.
  5. Adjust audio settings with the knobs according to your need and preference.
  6. Press REC when you're ready to start recording.
  7. Press REC again to end your recording.
  8. Switch off the equipment using the red on/off button.
  9. Collect headphones, power cord and USB cable (and possibly memory card) and return to the library's information desk.

Borrow dictaphones, cameras, headphones, etc.

You can borrow study equipment from the library. We also have memory cards for the podcast equipment in case you want to use this when recording. See what you can use, borrow and try out.
