AI and Sensor Technologies

In the current era of automation, it is often quoted as saying that “data is the new oil”! Data is generated using sensors and processed using machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms. Hence, the domain of sensors and AI is a pivotal area of research. It plays a crucial role in a range of long-term goals starting from carbon-neutral industries to circular economy.

At University West, we are a small group of experts pushing this area of research. We work with both local and international industries, SMEs, and startups. In addition, we also work on developing new AI architectures and algorithms. Some of our recent work includes our work on blind sensor calibration (especially atmospheric sensors and pyrometers), brain-inspired AI architectures, and the use of sensor fusion and AI for process monitoring of additive manufacturing.
