Wireless Networking and AI

In today’s interconnected world, wireless networks play a crucial role in driving technological innovation across industries. At University West, our research focuses on advancing wireless networking technologies, AI-driven optimization, and edge computing to enable intelligent, high-performance connectivity.
We explore key areas such as the 5G/6G and beyond, IEEE 802.1x family of standards, AI-enhanced network orchestration, and energy-efficient and battery-friendly wireless communication. A significant part of our work involves indoor positioning and localization, developing advanced techniques for precise tracking in complex environments, with applications in smart factories and automation.
Additionally, we address challenges posed by resource-intensive applications like extended reality (XR), optimizing resource allocation to ensure seamless and immersive experiences. Through interdisciplinary research, we aim to create adaptive, secure, and sustainable wireless systems that shape the future of connectivity.
