LINA bjuder in till lunchföreläsning med titeln Sense of Belonging, Peer Support, and Overall Well-Being of Students in WIL med Maureen Drysdale, University of Waterloo, Kristina Johansson HV, Kristina Sandström HV samt Karin Sjögren Edubrain.

Overall well-being and establishing a sense of belonging with a community and with peers are believed to be important in having a successful school-to-work transition and achieving a strong career identity. Students who participate in WIL programs compared to non-WIL students often have less access to social support networks and the university community due to their alternating academic and work terms. As a result, it is not known, if these students - who are balancing work and academic skill acquisition - are as balanced emotionally and socially for the demands they face as they prepare for the labour market. This seminar will provide a summary of the findings from our international study examining the well-being and support networks of students participating in WIL.
