RESEARCH INTEREST

My research interests stand broadly in the area of Additive Manufacturing (metal 3d printing) and High/Low Temperature Corrosion.

I am mainly interested to develop AM components with appropriate microstructures desired in high temperature corrosive environments that outperform the current state-of-the-art wrought and cast Ni-based superalloys. This goal could be achieved if ongoing mechanisms and the effect of process parameters will be thoroughly understood.

Moreover, I am also interested to develop a fundamental understanding of the dependence of high temperature corrosion of AM components on their microstructure, which will lay foundation for meeting the above objective. The focus will be on Ni-based superalloys manufactured by SLM/EBM techniques, which have not been fully investigated yet. Thus, this goal will also contribute handsomely to the current level of knowledge in the field.

I am currently collaborating with companies like GKN Aerospace Sweden AB, Arcam-GE, and Quintus Technologies AB, as well as universities like Chalmers University, Nottingham University, Linkoping University, Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg, and Case Western University. I have also a close collaboration with ASTM International on a few projects.
