Forskningsområde/forskningsintresse

Min forskning handlar om digitalisering, IT och lärande, inom en rad olika områden. Forskningen är designbaserad aktionsforskning och handlar om hur människa och teknik kan samverka och skapa nytta utifrån människligt perspektiv. En röd tråd genom min forskning sedan jag disputerade på Göteborgs Universitet 1995 inom programvaruverifikation, är ett intresse för hur man kan designa digital teknik för att motivera och stödja mänskliga tankeprocesser och samarbeten. Jag ingår i forskningsgruppen "Lärande i och för det nya arbetslivet" (LINA) som har arbetsintegrerat lärande (AiL) som tema.

Samverkan

Samverkan med det omgivande samhället och nytta är viktiga drivkrafter för mig. Jag har bedrivit samverkansprojekt med skolor i Sverige, Norden och USA, med kreativ industri, med inkubator verksamheter, med museer, med storföretag och små/medelstora, med företagarnätverk, samt med sjukvårdsorganisationer inom såväl kommun som landsting. Samtliga samverkansprojekt är tvärvetenskapliga och involverar praktiker från verksamheterna; flertalet också partners från andra universitet, bl.a, Stanford University, Lunds, Linköpings och Göteborgs Universitet, Konstfack och Sahlgrenska Akademin. Jag deltar gärna i populärvetenskapliga events och presenterar och diskuterar min forskning, t.ex. om digitala spel i skolan

eller om ljudbubblan i kontorslandskap, på den årliga Forskarfredagen som presentatör, i "låna en forskare", i juryn för forskar Grand Prix, i podradio eller i Almedalen som paneldebattör om robotar och framtiden och deltagare i "science battle".

Undervisning/handledninG

Jag är mycket engagerad i uppbyggnaden av forskarutbildningen inom informatik med inriktning mot AiL, och var huvudansvarig med 2 kollegor när utbildningen ingick i UKÄs pilotutvärderingsomgång av forskarutbildningar i Sverige 2015. Jag är huvud- och bihandledare för ett antal doktorander.

Jag var programansvarig för utbildningen Digitala media för design av upplevelser och lärande under åren 2003-2013, och var huvudansvarig för självvärderingen inom informatik när kandidatutbildningar utvärderades nationellt 2011.
