Forskningsområde/forskningsintresse

Nicolaie utför sin forskning på Produktionstekniskt Centrum där han leder en forskargrupp som arbetar med ytbeläggningsprocessen termisk sprutning. Beläggningen används framför allt för att skydda metallytor mot höga temperaturer, korrosion, nötning med mera. Man kan till exempel upphetta keramiska material till flera tusen grader och i smält form spruta dem på komponenter för flygmotorer eller gasturbiner i elkraftverk.

Undervisning/handledning

Undervisar i tillverkningsprocesser, maskinteknik och materialteknik på högskolans utbildningar.
