The phrase ‘knowledge creation in working life’ refers to the way work creates the circumstances for sustainable learning as well as development of knowledge and leadership in and between organisations and professions.

This core research field focuses on understanding organisation and policy development in working life, as well as on actors’ opportunities to create knowledge and carry out continuing professional development. Examples of possible thematic specialisations are, but are not limited to, studies in:

  • Knowledge for the new working life: How knowledge and competence is acquired through working life, how knowledge is transformed from what one learned in an educational programme to working life.
  • Sustainable and educational organisations: How knowledge and competence is acquired to promote sustainable and educational organisations.
  • Development of organisations and policy: How work creates the means by which knowledge is developed in and between organisations for policy development.
  • Health promotion in the workplace: How knowledge is acquired to create health on equal terms and a healthy working life / workplace.
  • Development of leadership: How work creates the means for development of knowledge and leadership in and between professions.
