Virtual computer rooms
For distance studies, we offer access to Windows computers in our virtual computer room. Read more about how to connect below.
Connect to a computer in the Virtual computer room
For Windows:
- First, download the client and install it on your computer. Pick the version that suits your computer, usually 64-bit.
Download the Remote Desktop client - Follow the guide and then start the application – Remote Desktop.
- Click on the button ”Subscribe with URL” and paste the following adress in the text field:
https://rdweb.wvd.microsoft.com/api/arm/feeddiscovery - Double click the computer ”HV-desktop” under the headline HV-desktop and log on with your username followed by @student.hv.se (e. g. buba0001@student.hv.se) and your ordinary password. In this system we also use multi-factor authentication, MFA, when logging in. You therefore need to activate MFA. Read about MFA and how to activate it here!
For Mac
- Go to the App Store on your Mac, search for Microsoft Remote Desktop and download it.
- When the installation is complete, launch the app.
- Once you have started, click on Workspaces then paste the following link in the field:
https://rdweb.wvd.microsoft.com/api/arm/feeddiscovery - Then double-click on the machine "HV-desktop" under the heading HV-desktop and log in with your username followed by @student.hv.se (eg buba0001@student.hv.se) and password.
- In this system we also use multi-factor authentication, MFA, when logging in. You therefore need to activate MFA. Read about MFA and how to activate it here!
The files you create on the remote computer can be saved to your home directory (H:) as usual. Then if you want to download the files to your own computer, you can do so via the system My Files. Read about My Files here!
