User Agreement and Acceptable use policy for IT resources at University West
The use of IT resources at University West must be in accordance with the university’s academic purpose. The resources are intended for use in education, research, library services, administration and for collaboration with the outside community. The resources must not be used for purposes that can damage the name and reputation of the university.
IT-resources must not be used for purposes that break Swedish law, SUNET’s rules or the rules of the university. The rules of the university are published at hv.se. The SUNET rules can be found at sunet.se.
An authorized user is anyone who has been given a user account by the university. The user account is accessed with a username and a password, or some other authentication method. The user account is connected to one or more storage areas, and gives access to several IT systems.
The following rules apply to the use of the university’s IT resources:

You agree to be bound by User Agreement and Acceptable use policy, and agree to comply with the regulations contained herein.

If you do not agree to be bound by these rules, you must contact your system administrator to cancel the user account.Your personal details will be used in the university’s administrative systems. Your name, e-mail address and information related to your employment may be displayed on the university’s website.

You undertake to keep yourself informed of any changes in the User Agreement and any supplementary regulations.

You are not allowed to share your login credentials with anyone else. You are not allowed to use the credentials from the university in other services on the Internet.

The university’s IT-resources are monitored for misuse.
Consequences of misuse:

Violation of these rules may result in the user being denied use of the university’s IT resources. Decisions about denial of access or referral of the matter to the Vice-Chancellor for further action, is taken by the Head of the IT department in consultation with any other concerned parties.

If a breach of Swedish legislation is suspected, it will be reported to the police.
