English (level 31-60): Literary history and Intertextuality, 15 hp
In this course we explore four centuries of English history and culture through cultural narratives, and connect these to contemporary stories, themes, and films. There is a particular focus on Great Britain and North America, as well as on colonial and postcolonial perspectives. We also practice composing and presenting literary analyses on different themes and issues.
The course is given entirely online, and has an asynchronous set-up, with no scheduled meetings, neither on campus nor online. It can be combined with other courses at the basic, intermediate and advanced level in English at University West, for a Bachelor's degree or as part of a teacher's qualification or similar.
