Operations & Supply Chain Management
The research in logistics and operations management takes a holistic view of the operations in organizations and their supply chains, with a particular focus on information technology effects.
Our research focus is on how technical and human systems work together, and how the system overall can be improved. The area is well placed for research into Industry 4.0 and 5.0 where the human factor receives increased emphasis.
Most production systems are international in nature, so that a holistic view of global supply chains is necessary to both make improvements in efficiency and in achieving organizational goals. These goals increasingly emphasize sustainability which is a major challenge for supply chains which are generally designed in a linear manner and need to become both more efficient and more circular to address global sustainability goals.
