Last week, the official application deadline for international admission to Sweden's universities passed. This year, 4,468 international master's students have applied to study at University West in the autumn of 2023. Last year, this number was 3,705, which means that this year’s number of applications equals an increase of 20.6 percent.

The corresponding increase nationally is below 10 percent, states the Swedish Council for Higher Education.

“We are seeing an increase in the number of applicants to all our master's programs”, says Tomas Bengtsson, Director International Affairs at University West. “It is fantastic that so many have found their way to us here in Trollhättan, which means that we have attractive programmes that hold up in an international market!”

Many of the university’s international master's programmes are still open for late application. This means that the final number of applicants is not yet known.
