Staff member at Division of Industrial automation.Research area
Conducts research in engineering and technology, production technology.I conduct research within the Industrial Automation areas focusing on Smart Human-centric Automation, Plug and Produce, Smart Factory (Manufacturing, Assembly, QC, and Logistics), and System Analysis and Design.
Research interest
I am interested in developing intelligent and flexible production systems where humans and automated technologies collaborate effectively to improve productivity, safety, and decision-making in industrial environments. My work explores modular and interoperable automation architectures that enable rapid integration and reconfiguration of machines and production components. I am also interested in applying automated data-driven methods for real-time monitoring, automated quality control from inspection to decision using AI, and process optimization in manufacturing systems. Through these research areas, I aim to contribute to the development of adaptive, resilient, and sustainable manufacturing systems that support both technological innovation and human involvement in modern industrial production.
How my research can make a difference
The goal is to develop flexible and intelligent production systems where humans and automated technologies collaborate effectively. By enabling modular integration of machines, real-time monitoring of production processes, and improved system interoperability, the research supports faster reconfiguration of manufacturing systems and more adaptive production environments. It also contributes to improving product quality, reducing defects and material waste, and increasing operational efficiency. Overall, my research helps industries build more resilient, sustainable, and human-centered manufacturing systems capable of responding to changing production demands and technological advancements.
Teaching/supervision
I am involved in teaching several courses of which some of them as course responsible are as follows: Design of Automation System, Project work in AI and Automation, Sustainable Automation, Digital Factory, Smart Maintenance, Research in Robotics and Automation. There are several other collaborating courses or help as examiner that are not mentioned here.
I am involved in PhD, Masters, and Bachelor’s supervision activities. This includes being supervisor or examiner (mainly examiner) in programs of MSc in Robotics and Automation, MSc in AI and Automation, MSc in Operation Management, MSc in manufacturing system, bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, and bachelor’s in Automation Engineering.
